Happy Holidays from Sellwood Consulting
In the spirit of the holiday season, every year Sellwood Consulting celebrates a local charity. This year, we made a donation on behalf of our clients to Community Vision, one of Oregon’s largest providers of individualized support for people with disabilities. Community Vision’s mission is to make Oregon a place where people with disabilities can live, work, and thrive in the communities of their choice.
In the Community: Free Geek
Last Friday, members of Sellwood’s team spent the afternoon volunteering at Free Geek, a local nonprofit devoted to transforming technology into opportunity. By our estimation, we took apart 25 desktop computers, 10 ancient servers, and dozens of modems, reducing obsolete technology to its component parts, so that they could be responsibly recycled.
Happy Holidays From Sellwood Consulting
In the spirit of the holiday season, every year Sellwood Consulting donates to a local charity on behalf of our clients. This year, we elected to support Habitat for Humanity. Every day, families of all sizes struggle to find affordable places to live. Rapidly rising rents force people to live in unsafe, unhealthy, and crowded conditions. Habitat for Humanity is a global nonprofit dedicated to eliminating substandard housing by building simple, decent, affordable homes in partnership with families in need.
Season’s Greetings
Every year, in the spirit of the Holiday Season, Sellwood Consulting invites its employees to research, nominate, and vote on one local charity to receive an annual donation on behalf of each of our clients. This year our employees elected to support Outside In‘s mission “to help homeless youth and other marginalized people become healthy and self-sufficient.”

2015 Day of Service
Our firm and families spent the morning of this year’s Martin Luther King, Jr., holiday planting trees. The event, organized by local charity Friends of Trees, saw volunteers plant 500 native trees and shrubs in a local community park.
Planting Roots in Our Community
Our staff, and several of our family members, spent the morning of the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday planting native red alder and dogwood trees at a local park. As noted in our article Paper Cuts, we are believers in being responsible stewards of natural resources,
The Sellwood Bridge Moves
This weekend, construction crews in Portland completed the in-tact move of the 6.8-million-pound Sellwood Bridge, Oregon’s busiest two-lane bridge.
The move of the bridge is necessary to accommodate uninterrupted traffic flow while a new, improved bridge is constructed alongside it. The original bridge was constructed in 1925. The new Sellwood Bridge is scheduled to be completed in 2015.
